Now that it’s possible to buy pet medications over the Internet for low prices and have them shipped right to your home or office, there is no excuse not to treat your beloved furry friend for whatever ails him or her. You can find Heartguard Plus online, for example, which is a veterinarian recommended monthly heartworm medication for dogs and cats. Frontline Plus for Dogs is another popular product that can be found online. It is the veterinarians’ number one choice when it comes to flea and tick protection for pets, and it comes in different doses for every different size of dog.
Treating and preventing heartworm is extremely important for dog owners. There are pet medications available online today that are not only 100 percent effective against heartworms, but also effective for controlling roundworms and hookworms. Heartguard Plus is a veterinarian recommended product that is approved for use in puppies as young as six weeks old, as well as for pregnant or nursing females, stud dogs, collies and dogs with collie genetics. It prevents canine heartworm disease by eliminating the tissue state of heartworm larvae for 30 days after the infection, as well as for the treatment and control of ascarids and hookworms.
Products like Frontline Plus for Dogs are easily available online as no prescription is required. This flea treatment is known for complete flea and tick control – veterinarians recommend it for killing ticks, killing adult fleas and controlling flea development. It is also waterproof and easy to apply, as it is a topical solution that only needs to be applied about once a month to break the flea life cycle by killing their eggs and larvae, preventing re-infestation. Online pet medicine retailers offer this treatment at a discount compared to pet stores and supermarkets, but there is no difference in the actual quality of the product compared to the full price. It’s completely waterproof and gentle enough for use on dogs as old as eight weeks in dosing sizes for up to 22 pounds, 23 to 44 pounds, 45 to 88 pounds and 89 to 132 pounds.
Being able to buy pet medications online is extremely convenient and in most cases the same products that you find in stores are available at a discount. It is good for dog and cat owners, and more importantly it is good for the animals.

I recently ordered Frontline Plus from a web site that turned out to be based in Australia. (The cost of the Frontline was in dollars and the dog weight ranges were in pounds.) Anyway, I told my veterinarian what I had done and that I had gotten an extremely good deal on it ($105/12 mo. and only $4 shipping). She suggested I check with Frontline, to make sure they recommend this version of their product for use in the U.S. I did so, and got some strange information from them.
I was told by the Frontline “vet tech” NO, they do NOT recommend the Australian version of their product for use in the U.S. (He didn’t say why.) He said that they recommend that we get the product only from our vet. I asked why, if they want us to obtain it only from a vet, they make their product available at a bunch of online stores, for a much cheaper price. He said that they don’t know where the online stores get the Frontline they sell. Hmmmm, I may be stupid, but I really think that if online stores were selling a product that looks exactly like Frontline, that the Frontline folks would be lining up their lawyers.
We also give our dog Heartgard and were told by a previous vet that if we purchase the Heartgard from an online source, that Heartgard would not stand behind it, should our dog actually get heartworms.
Can anyone shed some light on this bizarro situation?
