Increase Your Dog’s LIfe

Why is there even a reason for us to have to read about how to choose the healthiest dog food?

Why is just grabbing whatever is on the shelf at my local grocers not good enough anymore. That’s what we’ve always done since pre packaged kibble was made available to us more than 50 years ago.

We’ve been told (and sometimes even admonished) by our veterinarians and the dog food companies that this is the best and only way to keep your pet healthy.

Well, unfortunately, we had a dog food contamination a few years ago that opened up our eyes. The dog foods that were recalled were filled with toxic melamine which killed many of our pets. Using tainted ingredients and not having a quality check program in place caused this massive recall.

There was so much outrage from animal lovers everywhere, that a lot of companies have changed to a better, more chemical free product. That is not to say that there is still many products that are undesirable, and even harmful.

Okay, what is the secret to choosing the healthiest dog food?

There are several variables to consider. Two main points are cost and your time.

Your time is important, but a lot of dog lover’s have taken to making their own homemade dog food.

If you do consider this feeding method, it is an extremely healthy way to feed your dog. You must invest some time first and foremost, and read and learn about a dog’s nutritional needs. Just throwing your dinner leftovers in a bowl each day is not healthy for your pet. Actually this could cause a lot of medical issues and make your dog sick.

Just as we do, dogs need a very specific mix of proteins, carbohydrates, fruits and vegetables, along with additional necessary supplements. There are many excellent books and information on the internet and following the advice of a pet nutritionist or veterinarian is advised.

You will need to consider that preparing homemade dog food does involve extra time. If you find you don’t have the time in your day for this, never fear because there are many excellent choices of premium organic dog foods available now that are chemical free, pesticide free, preservative free and made with healthy wholesome ingredients.

Some companies have gone over and above the general guidelines of dog food production, and now make organic dog food that is rated human grade. These foods are more expensive, but the cost is offset because you are giving your pet a healthier life which reduces vet and medical costs.

Then you can choose from a long list of foods that a made specifically for different needs, such as active dogs, overweight dogs, puppies, dogs with allergies, senior dogs and more.

There are also dog foods that are less expensive, but still acceptable.

Learn to read labels, understand what bad dog food ingredients to look for and always remember do the best you are able to do for your companion, as we speak for them.

Come winter and you have to be all geared up to warm up to your furry friend. Yes! We are talking about your pet dog. Pet dogs, which are tiny, old or sick, have to be taken care of when the winter season sets in. The best thing to do is to start shopping and stocking some warm and cozy winter wear before its starts to get really cold and chilly. Sometimes these pets have to be protected from the cool winds of the rainy season too. Pet dogs are too active and you never know when they suddenly step out of the house and get attacked by the cold winds outside and it is not possible for you to keep a 24/7 watch on them, so it is better that you keep them warm by providing them with some great looking knitted dog sweaters. Warm clothes like jackets, jumpsuits and coats are not enough for the severe winters, so it is best to shop for some knitted dog sweaters, which are available in most pet shops or even online pet shops.

There is a huge variety out there in bright colors or pastels colors. Some dog sweaters are even hand knitted at home. Knitted dog sweaters are great to shop during the Christmas season where you can choose colors like white, red and green to get your pet dog into the holiday mood. You could even buy some knitted Santa Claus caps and some warm booties or you even order some of your own designs and specifications. It is great fun shopping for your pet dog, whether it is for summer, winter or the rainy season; there is so much to choose from. Each season has its own charm and come winters, you could cozy up with your pet dog by the fireplace and cuddle your pet that is already warmed up in cute little knitted dog sweaters.

Knitted dog sweaters are not at all costly, you could buy them according to your budget; they are of great quality, long lasting and easy to get washed and worn again. You could get knitted dog sweaters for small dogs as well as big dogs. Knitted dog sweaters, are so daintily done that they look so cute on small dogs. Though crochet sweaters are a new trend, but here is nothing like a traditionally knitted sweater to keep you pet dog warm and relaxed during the winters, which at times could be harsh and severe. When you shop for some knitted dog sweaters, make sure you divide the sweater collection into two parts; one is the light weight sweaters for the mild winters and the heavier ones for the very severe winters. The main function of these sweaters is to keep your pet dog warm and cozy, but that does not mean you do not get designer ones or stylish ones. Your pet dog is your true companion, so it is upon you to provide him with the best.

Preventing Canine Bladder Stones So Your Dog Doesn’t Have to Suffer From Them Ever Again

Preventing canine bladder stones is easy if you understand how the urinary tract system works and how it responds to food, supplements and exercise. In this short article, you’ll learn some simple steps that will help your dog heal the urinary tract system, so he never has problems with bladder crystals or urinary tract infections again.

As you know, exercise is integral to any good diet to prevent canine bladder stones. Exercise eliminates stress, brings the body and mind back into balance and replenishes the spirit. It also moves the lymph system which eliminates toxins and prevents cancer and disease. Regular exercise is just as important to your dog’s health as it is to yours. So get up off the couch and take your dog for a walk around the neighborhood, a hike in the mountains or a jog around the park. Regular exercise together will create good times and be healthy for both of you.

Since preventing canine bladder stones requires a good diet, check the label on your pet’s kibble. If it is commercial dog food, then it is likely to be full of fillers (usually made from cheap grains), by products, chemicals, dyes and preservatives. If you’re feeding your dog this kind of food, you are expecting him to stay well on a junk food diet. Like you, your dog needs lean protein, nutrient rich vegetables and healthy oils in order to heal from disease and maintain good health. Although organic food is a bit more expensive, your dog will eat less because he will finally be getting the nutrients he needs.

The most important part of a diet to prevent canine bladder stones is to make sure the kibble does not contain cheap grains. These grains, along with the chemicals in processed dog food alter the pH in the bladder which promotes the growth of bacteria and formation of kidney stones.

In order to quickly restore the pH of the bladder and keep it at a healthy level, give your pet a daily supplement that is specifically designed to promote bladder health. These supplements are all natural, have no side effects, do not interact negatively with other drugs and have been proven effective in clinical trials. They are inexpensive, can be used for daily prevention as well as a quick-acting cure and are the best method of preventing canine bladder stones known today.

In addition to giving your pet a supplement, you’ll also want to make sure that your dog has access to lots of fresh, clean water. Water is essential to maintaining bladder health. If your dog does not drink a lot of water, try mixing broth with organic kibble.

So there you have it: an easy-to-follow plan for preventing canine bladder stones: lots of water, regular exercise, a daily supplement and an organic diet to prevent canine bladder stones that  is made from lean protein, nutrient dense carbohydrates, and healthy oils.

Dog bladder stones can be very painful, causing bleeding, suffering pain and misery to your favorite furry friend. They can also can require multiple visits to the vet. In this article, you’ll learn some simple steps to dissolve struvite bladder stones and prevent them from ever coming back.

Understand that bladder stones in dogs do require an initial visit to the vet. This is because some stones need to be surgically removed. If your dog is diagnosed with struvite bladder crystals or stones, these can easily be dissolved with a natural remedy and a proper diet. This article focuses on the struvite type of bladder stones.

Many pet owners do not know that it is an improper diet that usually causes dog bladder stones in the first place. If you feed your dog commercially prepared kibble, then you should check the label because you are probably feeding your dog a diet of cheap grains, preservatives, dyes and meat byproducts. The cheap grains and chemicals in these junk food kibble products upset the delicate pH in the bladder, allowing bladder crystals to form and bacteria to proliferate and turn into infections. Worse yet, these products do not give your dog the nutrients needed to heal the body, build a strong immunity and ward off serious diseases like cancer.

Instead of feeding your dog junk food kibble, buy organic kibble from your health food store, vet office or pet store. Make sure this kibble is made of lean protein, nutrient-rich vegetables and healthy oils. Although it will be more expensive than commercial brands, your dog will eat less because he will be getting the nutrients he needs, so the kibble will last longer.

Next, give your pet a supplement designed specifically to prevent the formation of bladder stones in dogs These supplements are completely natural, have no side effects and will not interact with any other medications that your dog might need to take. If your dog has bladder crystals, these supplements will quickly dissolve them. Supplements that contain proven herbs like Cantharis and Uva Ursi can also be used daily for prevention and are the best natural remedy and prevention method for dog bladder stones.

Finally, make sure your dog gets plenty of water and daily exercise. Water helps to flush out the bladder and remove toxins. It is vital for all the organs of your dog’s body. Giving your dog filtered water is best because the filter will remove the chemicals in your tap water. Taking your dog for a daily walk is important because exercise reduces stress, improves immunity and stimulates the lymph system to eliminate toxins.

So that’s it: a simple system for treating and preventing and treating dog bladder stones: a healthy diet, a daily supplement and plenty of clean water and regular exercise. Take these steps and your dog will be healthy, happy and live a good, long life.
